How long does virus removal take?

Most infections can be cleaned same-day, usually within 1-2 hours. Severe infections might need more time, especially if Windows needs repair. We'll give you a timeframe once we assess the damage.

Will I lose my files?

Almost never — removing malware doesn't delete your personal files. The only exception is ransomware that's already encrypted files. We always back up important data before starting, just in case.

Can you remove ransomware?

We can remove the ransomware itself, but decryption depends on the strain. Some can be decrypted with free tools, others can't. We NEVER recommend paying the ransom. If you have backups, we can restore your files.

Do I need to pay for antivirus software?

Not necessarily. Windows Defender (built into Windows 10/11) is actually pretty good if configured properly. We'll set it up right and explain when paid options like Norton or Bitdefender might be worth it.

How did I get infected in the first place?

Common ways: clicking dodgy email attachments, downloading "free" software from sketchy sites, fake Adobe/Java update pop-ups, or outdated software with security holes. We'll help you avoid these traps.
