Email Setup FAQs

Why is my email asking for a password repeatedly?
This usually happens when authentication settings are wrong or your email provider requires an "app password" instead of your regular password. Gmail and Microsoft 365 often need special setup for third-party apps. We'll configure it properly.
What's the difference between IMAP and POP3?
IMAP keeps your email synced across all devices — read an email on your phone and it's marked as read on your computer too. POP3 downloads emails to one device only. We almost always recommend IMAP unless you have specific reasons for POP3.
Can you set up my business email (@mycompany.com)?
Absolutely. We'll get your business domain email configured on all your devices. Just need your hosting provider's mail server settings (or we can look them up for common hosts like cPanel, Plesk, etc.).
Will setting up email delete my existing messages?
No — we're just configuring how your device accesses your email. Your messages stay on the server (for IMAP) or on the device (for POP3). We'll make sure nothing gets lost.
How much does email setup cost?
It's included in our standard onsite service visit. We'll set up email on as many devices as you need during that visit. If you need ongoing email support or migration services, we can discuss options.
Can you help with Outlook on Mac?
Yes, we support Outlook on Mac, Apple Mail, and all other Mac email clients. The setup process is similar but has some Mac-specific quirks — we know them all.
